My approach is client centered and integrative. This means that I do not have one way of doing therapy. You stay involved in your treatment plan from day one and we will check back from time to time to make sure we are working towards the goals you want to accomplish. If your goals change over the course of our work together, that is OK! I will never ask you to try something you are not ready for. Trust is paramount in any counselling relationship and I work diligently at building that beginning with the very first time we meet. You are the reason why I am here!
Life can be tough. Together we will take an honest look at the difficult situations you are facing in your life. My goal is to help you navigate these situations so you can move from a place of survival to overcoming and thriving.

I work hard at providing a safe environment where you can take a serious look at the issues you are facing in your relationship. Together, we will work to improve how you interact with each other and identify the areas that need improvement. These areas may include communication, trust, intimacy, finances, or infidelity.

There are very few things in life that are more isolating and painful than having a family member who suffers from addiction. Addiction controls the person and can ultimately change their behaviour in a negative and destructive way. Your loved one may be addicted to drugs, alcohol, gambling or a myriad of other things. My goal is to provide a safe place where you can talk about it, without judgement, and ultimately come up with a plan that allows you to keep living your life amidst this very difficult situation.
If you are a graduate student needing a practicum placement or a practising therapist who needs a mentor/supervisor, I am here to help. For graduate students, I will do my best to provide a wide range of experiences where you can learn and grow in this profession. If you are already working in the profession, I am happy to lend my ear and wisdom to situations you may be having difficulty with.
Are you ready to start breaking down stigmas surrounding mental health at the workplace? Is there a specific issue that keeps coming up at work? Let’s chat and I will create something to suit your specific needs. All presentations are informative and interactive. Some of the topics include but are not limited to compassion fatigue, burn out, anxiety, depression, healthy relationships, and coping with grief and loss. I promise you will leave with information you can use in your everyday life and that of your organization. Rates vary depending on your specific needs. Please feel free to contact me for more information and to book.
THREE
During the first session we will do an intake together where I find out what brought you to counselling and how you are hoping I can help. You also get to decide if I am the right therapist to help you reach your goals.
Confidentiality is key therefore everything we talk about is kept between the two of us unless there is the risk of harm to self or others. I will go over this in more detail at our first session.
FOUR
Once the initial intake is completed, we will put together a treatment plan. This is a collaborative process where you are involved every step of the way. We will book future sessions based on what we decide we want to accomplish.
FIVE
Therapy will begin using agreed upon strategies to help you accomplish your counselling goals. This step will last as long as you deem it necessary. You get to fire me, not the other way around. I rarely have deadlines for the amount of sessions required, unless you have an EFAP program that only allows a certain amount of sessions. Even then, we can normally work something out for you to continue if you feel you need to.
SIX
Congratulations! Your hard work has paid off and you are feeling better and ready for all that life has to offer. It is not unusual to need to do refresher sessions now and again. You are welcome back anytime!
